Knowledge Graph

A structured network of entities and the relationships between them, used to store facts in a form machines can query and reason over.

A knowledge graph represents information as nodes (entities) connected by typed edges (relationships), forming a queryable web of facts. The comprehensive survey by Hogan et al. (2021) defines the field and its techniques. Knowledge graphs power search features, recommendations and question answering.

Combined with LLMs, they offer a structured, verifiable source of facts that can ground generation and reduce hallucination.
